The Tri‑Cities economy runs on reliable, affordable power and the federal cleanup mission at Hanford — thousands of high‑skill, family‑wage jobs that ripple through every neighborhood, school, and small business in the district.

In Olympia, April is a consistent voice for protecting that economy: standing up for the Hanford workforce and the federal commitment behind it, defending hydropower and nuclear, and opposing state energy and tax policy that drives up costs for working families and puts Tri‑Cities jobs at risk.

April spent more than two decades as a Tri‑Cities Realtor before going to Olympia, and she brings that real‑world experience to housing policy. Her focus is supply‑side reform — cutting the red tape and financing barriers that put ownership out of reach.

Her manufactured‑home mortgage law (HB 1191) — passed unanimously, 97–0 and 49–0, and signed into law — reclassifies manufactured homes in resident‑owned communities as real property so families can access conventional mortgages instead of high‑interest loans (about 1,700 homes to start, with more communities following). She is also the author of the bipartisan Homes for Heroes bill (HB 1022), publicly endorsed by Gov. Ferguson, to help police officers, nurses, firefighters, and other essential workers afford a home in the communities they serve.

April’s priority is connecting students to real opportunity. Her career & technical education work — recognized with a 2025 Legislative Superhero Award and written into law through HB 1414 and HB 1722 — links local classrooms directly to local careers.

She also backs a stronger voice for parents in their children’s education, so families are partners in the classroom, not bystanders.

April backs the people who keep our communities safe. That means funding to recruit and retain law enforcement officers, and real support for the first responders the Tri‑Cities counts on.
