Washington State House · 8th District · Position 2

A proven voice for the Tri‑Cities — and the work isn’t finished.

Re‑elect Rep. April Connors. Two terms of real results — defending Hanford and the family‑wage jobs it anchors, plus housing, reliable energy, schools, and public safety — and a record her House colleagues trusted enough to elect her their Republican Floor Leader.

A letter to the 8th District

Neighbors,

When you first sent me to Olympia, I made a simple promise to you: I would show up, do the work, bring our district’s issues front and center, and answer for the results. Two terms later, that promise is the record I’m running on.

I’m asking for your vote again to keep that work going: stand up for the federal Hanford investment and the thousands of family‑wage jobs it anchors, defend reliable and affordable energy, and keep delivering for Tri‑Cities families instead of talking about it.

Record, not rhetoric

Trusted by her colleagues. Tested on the floor.

The voters sent her to Olympia. In only her second term, her colleagues put her in charge of the House floor.

Leadership

Elected House Republican Floor Leader

In November 2024, House Republicans elected April Connors as Floor Leader — the No. 3 post in the caucus and one of the highest‑ranking Republican roles in the chamber. It is a position normally reserved for senior members; her colleagues chose her in only her second term.

The Floor Leader manages debate strategy on the House floor and speaks for the caucus in the moments that decide whether a bill moves or dies. It is a direct measure of how much trust she has earned in Olympia in a short time.
